On a sunny day, in April 2012, Nicolai Sederberg Rottbøll was setting up Quercus Group. It all started based on his experience with developing Copenhagen Cleantech Cluster and an increasing need in the market for cluster development advice. Since then, next to cluster development, the company’s activity has diversified into internationalization services for Danish and foreign companies, training and development programs and projects towards capacity building.
We’ve travelled a long road since our first project in Serbia, in 2012. Currently, we are working on major development projects in relation to smart city and green growth, in countries such as Singapore, India and Kenya. At the same time, our office in Copenhagen constantly receives delegations coming from various countries around the world for workshops on cluster development or green growth.
The Kenyan office
The company’s projects gained a more global perspective by opening an office in Nairobi, Kenya, in 2013. The office in Kenya has currently 4 employees and we are assisting the Green Growth Coordination Secretariat with capacity building projects. Our two offices work closely together as we are constantly receiving delegations from Kenyan counties that are interested in green Danish solutions.
Where do we stand
Plans for the future
At Quercus Group, we are constantly looking at how can we have a bigger impact around the world through sustainable solutions and collaborations. The focus areas include cleantech, agribusiness and smart city solutions for organizations in Denmark, Europe and Asia. Internally, as we are growing, we nurture our cultural diversity, Danish heritage, and down to earth approach.
