In line with its India strategy of partnering with leading organisations, Quercus Group signed an alliance agreement with Indian Institute of Technology in Guwahati (IITG) on 3rd of April 2018. IITG is amongst the top seven technical institutions in India with approximately 10,000 students and faculty on campus.
The collaboration covers the core businesses of Quercus Group, such as agribusiness, urban development and clean technologies. IITG has appointed Quercus Group as an advisor for various related projects including technology implementation, capacity building and stakeholder engagement. Quercus Group will be responsible for driving innovation by bringing the latest technologies, approaches and methodologies from the Nordic countries.
On behalf of IITG, Professor AK Das of the Department of Design will be leading the implementation of the agreement. He stressed upon the fact that this agreement reiterates IITG’s commitment to engage with leading international players within the area of smart cities and to co-create solutions for the Indian market.
“The North East Region (NER) of India, which has been the focus of recent development for the Indian government, offers significant growth potential, especially in view of the non-existent participation of Nordic companies in the region. IITG is a key and well-established stakeholder in the region and provides us with a stepping stone to establish our business in the region. We view this alliance as a strategic and highly important platform to engage Nordic solutions and know-how and bring them to the NER of India” mentioned Neelabh Singh, Partner at Quercus Group.
